Nancy Shedrick
Nancy is a lifelong horse-person. She started riding at the age of three and has over two decade in the saddle and tack industry. Nancy is the first person in New England to become a certified saddle fitter and member of the Society of Master Saddlers UK. Nancy was raised in Hebron Ct. She spent many summers at her Aunt's horsefarm in VT. As an equine major, Nancy graduated from the Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture at the University of Connecticut. While there, Nancy also competed on the UCONN intercollegiate team. Growing up, Nancy rode english in every discipline; dressage, hunters, jumpers and saddleseat. She managed several breeding and training farms prior to getting into the saddle industry in 1990. It was during the 1990's that Nancy moved to New Hampshire and became the manager for Pelham Saddlery. You would see her at NEDA and Groton House and driving all over New England fitting horses and measuring for all brands of saddles. In 2001, Nancy became an independent saddle fitter. She continues to advise and fit her customers in an educated, unbiased and ethical manner. Her natural intuitiveness with horses, down to earth approach and constant striving to better educate herself has allowed her the constant loyalty of her clients. Beautiful Wentworth, New Hampshire is where Nancy resides with her family and one horse. Favorite hobbies include swimming, orchids, skiing, gardening and breeding PRE's for sport. |
Carol Ramsey
I was born in Franklin, NH and my early years were spent in No. Kingstown, RI and Brunswick, ME, where my father was stationed with the US Navy. My mother, brother and I permanently relocated to the family home in Alexandria, NH (where my mother still lives) about 1959 and we soon welcomed a new addition...my sister. My father then commuted back and forth to Maine on weekends for the next couple of years until he retired from the service.
I attended Alexandria's one-room school house from grades 1 through 5. I graduated from Newfound Memorial High School in Bristol, NH in 1971. I briefly attended Concord Hospital School of Nursing, then worked at Blue Cross-Blue Shield in Concord until my marriage in 1974. I resided in Cranston, RI, where my daughters were born. While living in Rhode Island I worked at St. Elizabeth Home in Providence, an extended care facility for women. In 1983 I attended the Community College of Rhode Island and attained an Associate Degree in Science – Nursing. I worked at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence for the next couple of years. Our family moved to Alameda, California in summer 1985. I then worked in the obstetrical unit at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley for the next 21 years until I retired and moved back to my home state. I currently am single and live in Bristol. For the past 9 winter seasons I have worked at Ragged Mountain Resort in Danbury in the Day Care, as a ski instructor and ticket sales. This year I am, again, Program Coordinator for the Bebe Wood Learn to Ski and Ride Free Program. I have worked at Shedrick English Saddlery since March 2011 as Office Manager and continue to be amazed at what I learn. Even though I am an animal lover and have ridden horses on occasion, the only thing I usually ride is a bicycle. I enjoy traveling, skiing, biking, kayaking and, now, fixing up the vintage farm house I recently purchased. |
